![]() Would you give away thousands of copies of a game (or extra content for a game) away to a community that complains all the time instead of giving useful feedback? It only takes a few moments of your time. Maybe you think the graphics are a little dated and are in need of re skinning, or maybe you've just had enough of the genre and want to see something different or something with more originality? Giving such feedback instead of saying nothing or just saying this game is rubbish or good may bring more developers to the site, which could mean more and better games. ![]() For example, you could suggest extra content such as better or more original mini games, or a level editor that you would like to see that would make it more appealing to you. What improvements would change your opinion? There are thousands of subscribers to the game giveaway of the day every weekend which makes this an ideal forum for giving developers ideas as to what their consumers (i.e you) would like to see in a game. ![]() If you don't like this genre at all, please explain why. Whether you like or dislike Turtix 2: Rescue Adventures please give some feedback about your opinion of today's game giveaway, for example, what you liked or disliked about the game, and how it could be improved from your point of view. I've installed both and playing them, they are exactly the same, so I presume the 2 refers to the fact that Turtix: Rescue Adventures is the second in the Turtix themed games? I think Turtix: Rescue Adventures and Turtix 2: Rescue Adventures are the same game, they have just been labelled differently by different game houses. The installed game says it's Turtix: Rescue Adventures, but this is Turtix 2 (at least the same game as Big Fish purport to be Turtix 2: Rescue Adventures. It's a side scrolling puzzle platformer suitable for all ages. It's the sequel to Turtix, which we received earlier this month (5th February). Turtix 2: Rescue Adventures was originally giveaway here May 5th 2012 and received 50 comments and an 84% positive thumbs up out of 410 votes. But I’m not in the habit of paying to “beta test” a game that clearly needs some more QA.Please only post comments about today's game giveaway other comments either inappropriate, or not about today's game will be deleted at the moderator or administrators discretion however a little light banter among community members and with the moderator to keep this a friendly place to visit is acceptable and welcomed. If they issue an update, it’s possible I’ll re-purchase Turtix in the future and see if it works. To be fair, it’s entirely possible this was an isolated problem - and I would have possibly rated the game higher if I truly believed it was - but after un-installing and re-installing the game, and following Alawar’s troubleshooting steps, the fact that even THEY couldn’t figure out why their own game was broken ultimately made the 2-star rating justified in my opinion. Unfortunately it seems Alawar didn’t do enough testing, or simply doesn’t know enough about developing on OS X to deliver a complete gaming experience. It’s a shame - Turtix had a lot of potential and I was having a great time unwinding at the end of my day by playing it. ![]() Their only solution was to ask Apple for a refund, which is really a cop out and no solution at all. After far too much back-and-forth with their support, Alawar emailed me and admitted they had no idea why the game was broken and offered no help in fixing it, nor any promise of a future update that would correct the issue. Not wanting my enjoyable gaming experience ruined, I contacted the developer, Alawar Entertainment. The boss was frozen in place and would not move and could not be attacked or interacted with. I say “would” because, in my experience, the game became unplayable upon reaching the third boss (ie. The soundtrack is a bit repetetive, as is the platforming action after a while, but if you enjoy an easy-to-play platformer for those casual gaming sessions, Turtix would fit the bill. Turtix is a super-cute basic platformer with pleasing graphics, decently challenging enemies and smart level design.
